Project Overview
Webshark Web Services led a full-scale digital overhaul for Bison Life, a global manufacturer of protective equipment, industrial safety, cleaning, and household products. The engagement covered two separate websites (bisonlife.com for the USA entity and bisonlife.in for India), a ground-up dynamic product catalog system with multi-SKU filtering, and a custom-built Distributor Portal integrated into bisonlife.in. The portal was built using a hybrid of WordPress, WooCommerce, and Laravel with GST API compliance, multi-warehouse support, and automated invoicing built from scratch.
Bison Life | Protective Equipment for Global Markets
Bison Life is a globally recognized manufacturer and designer of protective equipment, industrial safety, cleaning, and household products. Founded to deliver high-quality safety gear to industrial, commercial, and retail markets, the company operates three distinct brands: Safe Handler® for industrial and personal protective equipment, Kleen Chef® for food service and cleaning safety products, and Zayaan Health® for health and wellness protective solutions.
Headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia, with a regional office in Bangalore, India, Bison Life manages two separate legal entities. Bison Life Production Company (USA) operates through bisonlife.com, and Bison Life India Private Limited operates through bisonlife.in. Each entity serves its own market with distinct product lines, pricing, regulatory requirements, and distribution networks.
When they came to Webshark, their digital presence had not kept pace with the scale of the business. What they needed was not a design refresh. They needed technology infrastructure built to match where the company had grown.
Identifying the Challenge
Bison Life’s existing WordPress websites were functional in the most basic sense, but they carried none of the depth the business required. There was no structured product catalog, no SKU-level filtering, and no way for buyers or distributors to understand product availability by geography. For a company with three active brands and hundreds of products across two countries, this was a significant commercial gap.
On the India side, the distribution network was growing but the infrastructure to support distributors had not grown with it. Order placement, invoice generation, shipping updates, and GST compliance were all handled manually, creating operational overhead and leaving distributors without a reliable digital channel to work with.

No Product Catalog or SKU-Level Browsing
The websites had no structured product listing or catalog architecture. Buyers landing on bisonlife.com or bisonlife.in had no way to browse by product category, apply filters, compare variants, or understand which SKUs were available in their country. For a B2B and retail audience that expects product-level detail before making a purchase decision, this was a direct conversion gap that the business could not afford to ignore.

Distributors Had No Digital Gateway
Bison Life India's distributor relationships were managed entirely through phone calls, emails, and offline documentation. There was no portal, no self-serve order system, no automated invoicing, and no way for distributors to check order status or download shipping documents independently. As the distribution network expanded across multiple states, each with its own warehouse and GST jurisdiction, the manual approach became increasingly unsustainable and a risk to partner satisfaction.

GST Compliance and Multi-Warehouse Complexity Handled Offline
With warehouses across multiple Indian states, Bison Life India was managing inter-state GST compliance, E-Way Bill generation, and tax invoice issuance entirely through manual processes. The absence of a system-driven compliance layer introduced errors, slowed down shipments, and placed a disproportionate burden on the finance and operations teams. For a business operating at their scale, this was not a workflow inefficiency. It was a regulatory exposure.

Webshark structured the engagement in two deliberate phases. The first covered the platform-wide website revamp across both countries. The second built the Distributor Portal on top of that stable foundation. This sequencing ensured Bison Life’s teams began seeing value early, while the more complex functionality was developed without disrupting live operations.

Website Revamp (USA & India)
A comprehensive overhaul of bisonlife.com and bisonlife.in, rebuilding the WordPress platform for performance, scalability, and user experience. New pages were added to improve user engagement and time on site, with improved navigation architecture targeted at B2B buyers and procurement teams.

Dynamic Product Catalog with Multi-SKU Filtering
A fully dynamic product catalog was engineered for both sites, with individual filter logic built per product category. A buyer searching for cut-resistant gloves could filter by protection level, material, and size, while the same catalog framework served entirely different filters for cleaning products. Country-specific product availability logic ensured bisonlife.com showed US-market inventory and bisonlife.in reflected India availability, without any manual curation required.

Distributor Sign Up & Sign In
A dedicated authentication layer for distributor accounts, completely separate from the public-facing website, with role-based access control for distributors, managers, and super admins. Each distributor gets a private gateway into Bison Life India's ordering and logistics ecosystem.

Distributor Dashboard | Orders, Billing & Reorder
A centralized distributor dashboard covering order status tracking, billing history, reorder functionality, and account management, all in one view. Distributors can reorder from past purchases with a single action, reducing friction and accelerating repeat purchase cycles.

New Order Placement with Distributor Discount Engine
Distributors can browse the live product catalog, update quantities, review real-time pricing, and add to cart entirely self-served. Admin and sales staff can generate and assign custom coupon codes offering specific discounts to individual distributors, enabling flexible, relationship-driven pricing without any manual intervention at the point of order.

Auto Proforma & Tax Invoice Generation
The system automatically generates Proforma Invoices on order placement and GST-compliant Tax Invoices on sale confirmation. Finance team templates are embedded in the generation engine, eliminating manual document preparation for every transaction.

Shipping, LR Copy & POD Management
Logistics teams can upload LR copies, POD copies, and update shipping details directly within the portal. Distributors receive full visibility into their consignment status without making a phone call, reducing the daily inbound query load on the Bison Life India operations team.

Multi-Warehouse & Multi-State GST Management
The portal supports multiple warehouses across different Indian states, with billing and tax logic that accounts for each warehouse's applicable GST registration and jurisdiction. Inter-state and intra-state tax treatment is handled programmatically, removing compliance risk from every order processed through the system.

Bulk Inventory Upload
Admins can upload and update inventory data using a standardized Excel format defined by Webshark, enabling large-scale catalog management without manual data entry. New product lines, updated pricing, and stock changes can be pushed across the portal in a single upload cycle.

E-Way Bill & GST E-Invoicing Integration
Direct integration with the Government of India's E-Way Bill GST API enables automated generation of E-Way Bills and e-Invoices from within the portal. Every qualifying shipment triggers a compliant document without requiring manual filing, ensuring Bison Life India stays audit-ready at all times.
The Outcome
The website revamp went live across both bisonlife.com and bisonlife.in, giving Bison Life a product catalog experience that finally matched the depth and quality of their product range. Buyers across the US and Indian markets can now browse, filter, and evaluate products with the kind of structured detail that supports purchase decisions.
The Distributor Portal, completing its final launch phase, represents a more fundamental shift. For the first time, Bison Life India’s distribution partners have a dedicated digital gateway to place orders, track shipments, access invoices, and operate independently. The operations team has moved from managing individual distributor queries manually to overseeing a system that handles the entire order-to-delivery cycle programmatically.
For the leadership team, the result is real-time visibility into distributor activity, order volumes, inventory movement, and compliance documentation, all from a single platform. The manual overhead that once consumed the sales, finance, and logistics teams has been systematically replaced with automation. The platform is built to scale. New distributors, warehouses, and product lines can be onboarded without structural changes to the underlying system.
